TÍTULO DA PALESTRA: Testing of Context-aware Software Systems
RESUMO DA PALESTRA: Context awareness challenges the engineering of contemporary software systems and jeopardises their testing. The variation of context represents a relevant behaviour that deepens the limitations of available software testing practices and technologies. This talk will summarise 7 years of research in this area reviewing the challenges that these systems pose to our engineering practices, the current state of the art and practice.
SHORT BIO: Santiago Matalonga is Lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland. He has a Phd in software and systems from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and did postdoctoral studies at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro PESC/COPPE. Since 2010 he is a graded researcher in the Uruguayan research agency (currently at level I, www.sni.org.uy) and since 2012 in the National Program for the development of basic sciences (currently at grade III – http://www.pedeciba.edu.uy/indice.php). Since 2019 he is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK).
He has ample industrial experience having provided consultancy services for over 15 years. Dr Matalonga has been involved in several process improvement initiatives achieving tangible improvements in costs and productivity. In 2006 he was one of the members of the first Uruguayan CMMI L3 rating. From 2007 to 2017 he consulted for a large development project at the Uruguayan State Electric company. Some of latest projects included: coaching in agile application lifecycle management, ISO 9001:2008 adoption, strategic and project management.
