Call for applications for a postdoctoral research position in Computer Science at UFSC/Brazil
The Graduate Program in Computer Science (PPGCC) of Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianópolis, Brazil, offers a postdoctoral research position in any of its major lines of research: Databases, Distributed and Parallel Computing, Software Engineering, Computational Intelligence, Computer Networks, Security in Distributed Systems, and Embedded Systems. We seek applicants with a doctoral degree in Computer Science with a solid background in one of the aforementioned research domains.

Position Responsibilities and Details
In addition to conducting original research resulting in quality publications on the above topics, the postdoctoral researcher will also supervise undergraduate and graduate students’ research, participate in research groups, and prepare an activity report every 6 months. The researcher will work at UFSC, Florianópolis/Brazil, and will receive a grant award of R$ 4,100.00 per month for one year, starting in June 2018.

  1. A research project (maximum 15 pages) with a research plan, including objectives, state of the art, and main scientific contributions. The plan should include possible activities such as supervision of undergraduate student research, seminars, talks, etc.
  2. A letter from a faculty member of the UFSC Computer Science Graduate Program (see the list of faculty members here: http://ppgcc.posgrad.ufsc.br/corpo-docente/), agreeing with the research plan.
  3. A copy of the Doctoral diploma;
  4. A Curriculum Vitae;
  5. A copy of the passport;

VII. In case of being employed, a letter from the employing organization stating that the applicant will be away from his or her professional activities during the postdoctoral period to perform the activities detailed in the research plan.
