About the Program
GRADUATE PROGRAM IN COMPUTER SCIENCE |
The Graduate Program in Computer Science (PPGCC) of UFSC was created in 1992. It aims at offering a differentiated training, at national and international levels, for researchers and higher education teachers in the area of Computer Science. Therefore, it establishes rigorous criteria for teacher accreditation and student admission.
The PPGCC is accredited by the Brazilian Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and offers master’s and doctoral degree programs, in addition to postdoctoral positions. The programs are free and meet the great demand of students graduated from UFSC and from other educational institutions in Brazil and abroad.

MASTER’S DEGREE: minimum: 12 months / maximum: 24 months
DOCTORAL DEGREE: minimum: 18 months / maximum: 48 months - TOTAL CREDITS REQUIRED:
MASTER’S DEGREE: 18 credits in courses and 6 credits for the thesis (equivalent to 360 hours).
DOCTORAL DEGREE: 24 credits in courses and 12 for the dissertation (equivalent to 540 hours).
